On April 22, 2011, I lost my companion horse
"Dancers High Dice" on a farm accident. Dancer was well loved
and known by my friends and family members. My heart is deeply sad
and he is truly missed by us all. Dancer was well know all
over North Carolina and at many shows. He was a super companion and wonderful
show horse, and we have shared many special moments together. Words cannot
express how this hurts me. I purchased Dancers High Dice on May 4, 2006
only 5 months old from Rhonda Yatso.
I would like to thank Marie Grossnickle, Sarah Kreh,
and Marissa Bowman for their support, love and friendship at this sad moment of
my life...
I lost the
horse of my dreams, my baby from the start and I have such an emptiness
inside of me. You hear of folks losing their family members and Drifter was
my boy. I spent many hours with him after I purchased him at 5 months old
and worked him as a youngster. Dr. Donatelli and I even gelded him
together before he went to training. I saw his potential as a show horse
from the day I started working him.
Drifter was a very playful
boy and he was full of energy and fun. He loved to pull all of the
locks open on our stall doors in our paddock outside and he would let all
the horses out. He was a real show off and knew he was handsome boy.
Dancer was one of those horses that everyone dreams of having ! When
he was at his trainer’s in North Carolina, there was not one day I
did not think about him and I spent tons of money on his training and shows.
I even designed his own website to show him off to the world.
I put this song here from Terri Clark because I think it was just perfect
for my missing him while he was at his trainers. I remember my looking forward
feeling I had when he was about to come home from his trainer, Debi Jones Williams
when she was still in North Carolina. I would call her often to check on him
and his progress.
You know when you have
a horse like Drifter, it’s like sending you kids off to college. May 2nd,
I got his ashes and May 3rd I got his tail and his mare.
Everyone says that I did the right thing to put him down and took my vet’s
advice. I am suffering instead of him, but this has been one of the most
difficult things in my life… I would rather suffer than him,… I
know God wants it to be this way but it’s so dag gone hard.. Drifter was a wonderful
horse.. Me Mals Boy! God wanted my best horse... for him...
He is a great loss to our
farm, our friends and to me..
